| Founded in 1990, Derby City Bop Association
is Louisville's first and oldest club dedicated to the
preservation of Jitterbug style dances commonly known as Bop,
Shag, and Swing. In addition to preserving our style of dance,
we are dedicated to the preservation of various music styles
known as Bop, Beach Bop, Swing, and Rhythm and Blues.
Derby City Bop Association dances every Tuesday
night.
We dance at Jim Porters
Good Time Emporium.
Doors open at 6:00 PM. DCBA DJ's play until approx. 10:30 PM.
Jim Porters is located across from KT's Restaurant at 2345
Lexington Road.
Intermediate level dance lessons are offered every Tuesday night
every other month in four week sessions.
Intermediate lessons begin at 6:30 PM and last until 7:00 PM and
are held in the main ballroom.
Beginner level lessons are offered every Tuesday night of every
month.
Beginner lessons begin approximately 7:00 PM and last until 7:30
PM.
Beginner lessons are held in the front ballroom at Jim Porters.
You must be a member of Derby City Bop Association to
participate in dance lessons. |
